Άγιος Ιωάννης ο Χρυσόστομος

Ώσπερ γάρ τώ σώματι φώς ήλιος, ούτω τή ψυχή η προσευχή. Ει ούν τυφλώ ζημία τό μή οράν τόν ήλιον, πόση ζημία Χριστιανώ τό μή προσεύχεσθαι συνεχώς καί διά τής ευχής τό τού Χριστού φώς εις τήν ψυχήν εισάγειν;

For just as the sun is light to the body, so prayer is light to the soul. If then it is a loss for a blind man not to see the sun, how great a loss for a Christian not to pray continually and through prayer to bring the light of Christ into the soul?
