Pronuntiatio¶
Ecclesiastical Latin (used in the Church and for the Rosary) differs from classical Latin.
- Soft "c" before e, i, ae, oe is pronounced "ch" (as in "church").
- "g" before e, i is soft "j".
- "gn" is like "ny" in "canyon".
- Vowels are pure; no diphthongs as in English.
